Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between extract and split?
Extract lets you pick specific pages to keep — e.g. pages 3, 7, and 10-15 — and saves only those pages as a new PDF. Split separates every page into its own individual PDF file. Use extract when you need a subset of pages; use split when you need each page as a separate document.
Does extraction preserve the original PDF content quality?
Yes. Pages are copied at the raw content stream level using pdf-lib without re-rendering. Images, fonts, vector graphics, annotations, and hyperlinks are preserved exactly as in the original.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. Use commas to specify non-consecutive pages. For example, '1, 5, 10, 15' extracts exactly those four pages in that order into the new PDF. You can also mix individual pages and ranges: '1-3, 7, 12-15'.
