The N-up tool is invaluable for printing study notes (9-up turns a 90-page document into 10 sheets), creating compact handouts for presentations, printing storyboard or wireframe PDFs at small scale for review, and reducing paper consumption for internal document reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is N-up printing?
N-up printing (also called 'multiple pages per sheet') places N pages from your PDF onto a single output sheet, scaled to fit. 2-up prints 2 pages side by side on one sheet; 4-up prints a 2×2 grid; 9-up prints a 3×3 grid. This is commonly used for printing handouts, study materials, storyboards, and documentation drafts.
What is the output page size?
The output uses A4 landscape dimensions (841 × 595 points) as the sheet size. Individual source pages are scaled proportionally to fill each cell in the grid while maintaining aspect ratio. Each cell has a 5% padding to prevent content from touching cell borders.
Can I print 8-up?
Yes. The tool supports 2, 4, 6, and 9 pages per sheet (the most common layouts). 8-up (4×2) is also available. The output is always an A4 landscape sheet.
