Why Background Sampling Matters
A simple white rectangle would look wrong on a coloured, textured, or gradient background. By sampling the actual page pixels outside the selection, the tool picks the dominant background colour and produces a seamless cover that blends naturally with the rest of the page.

What types of watermarks can this tool remove?
The brush-paint approach works on any visible watermark regardless of how it was created: text watermarks (DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, SAMPLE), diagonal text stamps, image watermarks (logos), and semi-transparent overlays. Because the tool paints the background colour over the watermark region, it works as long as the background behind the watermark is uniform enough to sample.
How does the background colour sampling work?
When you finish dragging a cover region, the tool samples pixels in a 6px strip OUTSIDE your selection on all four sides. It uses a mode-based algorithm (most common colour bucket) rather than an average, so stray ink from the watermark itself cannot skew the result. Near-white and near-black values are snapped to exact white or black.
What if the watermark sits on top of important content?
The cover rectangle completely covers the watermark AND any content underneath it. This is a limitation of the approach — watermark removal that recovers hidden content would require AI inpainting. For most use cases (removing a DRAFT stamp from a margin), the underlying content is empty space and nothing is lost.
Can I remove a watermark from multiple pages at once?
